The camper body was not beyond repair but some parts were so I gutted the interior and ripped out all of the old rotten wood and hardboard frame replacing with new wood treated with wood preservative.

The floor in the middle and at the back had gone so that was taken out as well and while out I wire brushed off all of the loose rust and amazingly no welding was needed so I red oxided and hammerited the chassis.

I then used the opportunity to run new copper brake lines and break pipe fittings front to back, new fuel lines, filter and new reconditioned tank from a larger mk2 also given the same paint treatments as the chassis before fitting 18mm marine ply.

Next came some serious sound deadening and insulation so I used roof flashband from b and q which is the same as dynamat but cheaper, which was applied to all of the panels and for the insulation thermawrap a very thin foil bubble wrap insulation which has the equivalent rating of 50cm of normal insulation perfect for the campers thin walls.
